MAJORS + PLAYOFFS = CONE CUP POINTS
The Cone Cup runs simultaneously with the 2023 PGC Season and is broken down into two forms of point allocation -- ‘Majors’ & ‘Playoffs’ --
The (6) Majors
Will be the first portion and broken down into 4 flights, played gross. The Majors are still stand alone tournaments, and the more majors you play in, the more chances you have at accumulating Cone Cup points.
The (1) Playoff
Will be the second portion and broken down into 1 Bracket, played net.
PLAYOFFS
The Playoff is a stand alone event in the form of a continuous month long elimination Bracket. At the conclusion of all (6) Majors, and that part of the season, the top 64 Cone Cup point holders will be entered into the Playoff Bracket. The more rounds you play/ advance, the more chances you have at accumulating Cone Cup points. If you cannot attend a round, your position in the bracket will be lost.
- Cone Cup points will be calculated using net match play results:
- Each round a player participates, earns 50 pts
- Each match you win, earns 150 pts
The top (2) Cone Cup point leaders at the conclusion of the Playoffs will become captains for the third annual ‘2023 PGC Cone Cup.’
- The tournament is President’s Cup style.
- The format is a (3) day fourball and singles match play total event.
- Across all players/ flights, the top 40 players based on points will punch their ticket into the Cone Cup draft. Here, both captains will have the opportunity to pick from a field of 38 players.
- If a member is unable to compete in all rounds for a given major, participation will be awarded as 50pts per round/ showing.
In order to qualify for the Cone Cup draft you must participate in at least 4 out of the 6 majors.
- Note* - single round participation counts as attendance for each major.
- Note** - 3 rounds of participation in the Masters will count as playing in two majors.
- Playoffs are all bonus, and even if you get eliminated in the 1st round, if you still arrive in the top 40 at the end of September, you will be entered into the draft.
- There will be no purse or payouts at majors or during playoff rounds. It’s all about the points and positioning yourself with the chance to be part of the biggest event of the year; the PGC Cone Cup III. (surprises will ensue...)
FLIGHTS
Players can potentially move up, or down, in flights through the season depending onHandicap Index. Flights for Majors are categorized by Handicap Index at tournament date/ sign upPlayers should be striving to get better and improve their handicap, since being in a more competitive flight means more points they can accrue at each major event.
CONE CUP POINTS

- Cone Cup points will be calculated using net match play results:

HOLE IN ONE IN INSURANCE
The governing body has decided this year we will be creating a ‘Hole-N-One’ PGC piggy bank; insurance if you will, for all you snipers. At each and every event this season, we will increase the tournament green fee by $1.This 100 cent increase will create a ongoing pot. If and when a hole-in-one occurs, that player will be granted the money in the current stock. It will then reset for the next pot to build. If We will keep track of this total andmake sure the club always has visibility of what’s at stake. Ace cam, GO!
